new phase, (hopefully) new faces (soon).

tomorrow i start a new job. i am going to discover new talents, listen to good music (most of the time), and build more relationships. what is life.

last day of june and i’m at home just chilling. come to think of it, i feel like every time before a major phase in my life transitions, i chill for about a month. i chilled for a whole month before college started, i chilled for a whole month before my freelance work start, and i’ve been chilling more than working this past month too.

i am blown away by the amount of support my parents and my friends have given me. can’t miss out the blessings and provisions that God has given me too. because of this, at times i feel like i’m unworthy or have not live up to a good level of expectation, but the only person that has high expectations of me is myself. finally hanging out with the big boys and i’m honestly scared (and excited). hahah

not gonna lie, i am a little sad that i won’t be hanging around at the bee as much anymore. max said to me the other day, that whatever job after the bee will never amount to what i have experienced for two reasons; (1) it’s my first actual job, and (2) the people there have a way of making me feel like i’m at my second home. i’m not afraid to say that i’m attached to that place. haha ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

i don’t have a lot of food adventures this month. i tried to do a surprise laksa party for eugene but someone spilled the beans. haish. on the other hand, i’m rekindling my love for coffee, and elisha tagged me in a picture of sundrop orange juice on instagram. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

my friend derrick from mukah is now residing in KD studying film and tv, max & mokhtar are champions at faces, elena & melanie are continuing their adventures in KL, and heck i’m gonna miss working with mokhtar, no doubt.

i also did two birthday parties back to back on june 14, 2014. one for a 7-year old, the other for an 80-year old.

here’s to july, more music, more friendship being made.

below are my latest originals! i figured while i have some ideas that i can sing about, i might as well do it now before i marry my work (again).

turning 21 and embracing it

how often do we lose track of our main goal(s)? we go on this journey, doing really fine for a period of time, and then something out of the norm decides to mess with our balance, and instead of working around / on ways to get rid of it, we make the problem bigger, by just complaining about it. or when we try to describe a certain situation by giving an example, instead of giving the situation a thought, we focus more on the example.

last month i turned 21, an age whereby you are legal to drink and go to clubs in america. i posted an instagram picture on my birthday captioned “i’m legal.” with reference to the american legal drinking age. one of my friends made a little joke, saying “awesome, now we don’t have to sneak in to buy alcohol and stuff.” i told her that our legal drinking age is 18.

this morning i wasn’t very sure myself. so i went on wikipedia to prove it.

apparently drinking age is 16, purchasing age is 18.

i’m just gonna leave the facts here and walk away. ๐Ÿ˜€ [click on the picture above for more legal drinking ages around the world.]

my family and i started the month of may in penang for a getaway. there wasn’t a lot of food or city adventures, plus all of us got sick, which made us spend a lot of time together, almost closely minus the germs hahahahaha. my friend abigail from bintulu took me around georgetown and told me stories of the architecture events involving some of the historical buildings that they wanted to restore. we went to straits quay, china house, saw a few of the street arts, and had supper at the infamous kapitan for naan.

and now, moving on to the faces of my favourite people! AND FOOD! and random bits of work-related. ๐Ÿ™‚

on my birthday, i spent time with 3 groups of family.

on the 28th, amanda and i played for Elena’s gig at merdekarya. for more pictures, click here [x]. videos will be up soon!

aaannnddddd my favourite event of the month is Yuna’s launch of her boutique in SS15 Subang Jaya, November Culture. pictures were taken by the ever so awesome MUMU! i had a blast – boss and i setup the stage, i had aย quick lunch and came back in time for soundcheck. after the ribbon-cutting was officiated, the fans and artists and press went in to shop, while the invited musicians setup. Nabilah Musa, The Impatient Sisters, Salam Muzik & Aizat were the performers. Yuna, of course, did her fair share of performing. i finally got to hear her sing LIVE!

Yuna's mom handed me a bag of goodies! I rocked the t-shirt next day!!
